Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Sunno mobile app (the “app”) provided by Sunno (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The service

Sunno is a weather application that provides forecasts, radar and satellite imagery, severe-weather alerts, astronomical information, and related features. Weather data is sourced from third-party providers and delivered through our servers, which cache the data for performance. The app is designed for personal, non-commercial use.

2. No account required

You do not need to create an account to use the app. We do not collect your name, email address, or other identifiers as a condition of use.

3. Subscriptions and billing

A subscription is required to use the app. The current price is $12 USD per year, with a thirty-day free trial where offered.

  • Subscriptions are billed by Apple's App Store or Google's Play Store, depending on your device.
  • We use Qonversion to validate your subscription and grant access. Qonversion receives only the data necessary to confirm your purchase.
  • We do not collect or store your full payment information.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew annually unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID or Google Account settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the app only for its intended purpose and not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source of the app or its bundled data, except as permitted by law;
  • Abuse, overload, or attempt to disrupt the servers or third-party services the app relies on;
  • Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to access our servers; or
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.

The app is designed for personal, interactive use. Automated or high-volume access to our servers is not permitted.

5. Third-party data and accuracy

Weather forecasts are predictions produced by third-party models and providers. They are inherently uncertain. The app may also display model-spread information that reflects disagreement between forecasts. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any weather data, and you should not rely on the app alone for decisions where safety or property is at stake without consulting official sources. Severe-weather alerts originate from official government services where available.

6. Intellectual property

We retain all rights to the app, its design, and its original content. Weather data and other content provided by third parties belong to their respective owners. Public-domain map data is bundled in the app under the terms of its sources.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data will be accurate or timely.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the app.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, or for any reason at our discretion, including if we stop offering the app.

11. Changes to the service and these terms

We may update or change the app, including its features and pricing, and we may revise these Terms. If pricing changes, the new price applies only to your next renewal; you will be notified through your device's store. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in North Carolina for any dispute arising from these Terms.
